Our deepest sympathies to Lorraine's family & friends - she was a great supported of Life

With great sorrow, her family announces the departure of Marie Lorraine (Thompson) Shonaman from this world to be with her beloved Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her passing occurred on Thursday, April 6th 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1946, in Summerside, PEI; she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Arsenault) Thompson.
Lorraine worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist until she began her family at which time she devoted her life to caring for them.  She was an unyielding and supportive wife and mother; always willing to lend a listening ear and encouraging word to anyone.  She provided constant strength for her family and friends.  Lorraine was very proud of her Acadian background and highly devoted to her Catholic faith.  She was a long-time member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, chairperson of the Atlantic Service Committee, treasurer of the National Service Committee, Queen of Peach Prayer Group, past president of the Catholic Women’s League and a columnist for the New Freeman newspaper, Bread of Life magazine and various other religious columns and periodicals.  In her spare time, Lorraine loved to write, listen to music, paint and tend to her gardens.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Fred and their children; Ian (Tanya) and Karen Shonaman Lanteigne, beloved grandchildren; Zachariah and Marcus, brother Wilfred (Cecile) Thompson, sister Beatrice (Raymond) Gallant as well as brother-in-law Robert Craig.  She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Freda Craig.
The family would like to thank the staff of 3AN and 5CN for the love and care shown towards Lorraine and in particular Dr. Love, Dr. Griffin , Dr. Greg McLean and Dr. Sarah Caines.
Lorraine will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8.  Mass of Christian Burial and reception will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 11th 2017 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial Donations in memory of Lorraine may be placed towards the Mouth and Foot Painting Artist Association, Divine Mercy Catholic School, Canadian Wheelchair Basketball Association or Between the Heart Renewal Center.

March for Life May 2nd

Join us and your fellow New Brunswickers on May 2nd, 2017

Now, more than ever, we need to be witnesses for life. The push for expanded access to abortion, assisted suicide and euthanasia gets stronger by the day. It’s easy to be discouraged, but we must never give up.

Our Sympathies to Francois's family

Francois Joseph Aucoin

September 13, 1937 ~ January 4, 2017 (age 79)

It is with deep sadness that the family of Joseph “Francois” Aucoin announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of illness on January 4, 2017.  He was born on September 13, 1937 in Rosaireville, NB to the late Joseph and Marguerite (Pitre) Aucoin
François owned a watch repair business, working out of his own home, and enjoyed putting his fine motor skills to use.  He especially enjoyed the chats with his clients, and that is what he missed the most after he had to stop working due to ill health.  Although he had multiple health problems throughout his life, he never complained, always grateful for all the help he was getting and worried he was being too much trouble.  He was a very kind man who would do anything for anyone, and will be remembered fondly by all who had the opportunity to chat with him while he was fixing their watches, or who were able to enjoy his company in any setting.   He was a very faith-oriented man who was very active in his parish church, Saint-François-de-Sales, serving as an altar server continually over the years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and greatly enjoyed his church life.
François is survived by his brother Laurie (Agnes) Aucoin, Comox, B.C.,
Sr. Thérèse, (S.C.I.C) Aucoin
Rita (Emery) Richard
and Rosé Aucoin, all from Saint John,
sisters-in-law, Pauline Aucoin, and Alma Aucoin
along with nephews;
 Giles (Denise) and Marc (Catherine)
his six nieces;
Anne, Louise (Tim), Claudette (Charles), Dianne ( Brian), Nicole, Suzanne (Jake),
 as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his parents,
three brothers; Léo, Aldéric, and Gérard Aucoin, sister Lilianne Robichaud and nephew Claude Aucoin
The family would like to thank the staff on 5C South at the Saint John Regional Hospital for all the care given to François during his month-long stay at the hospital.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) in Saint John where visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12th, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m.  A funeral mass will be held at Saint-Francois-de-Sales Church on Friday, January 13th, 2017 at 12pm with a reception to follow in the church basement.  Interment will take place at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Parkinson’s Society, Saint John Right to Life organization, Saint-Francois-de-Sales Church fund, the Community Food Basket or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
